Over the last two years, Stifel has underwritten more than 60% of all negotiated K-12 issues in the state. We are in the market selling Michigan K-12 bonds more often than any other firm which allows us to provide our issuer clients with the confidence that they will receive competitive interest rates when financing their capital projects.

Tri-County Experience. Over the last three years Stifel has financed more municipal bond projects for Wayne, Oakland and Macomb school districts than any other firm. Stifel served as the Senior Managing Underwriter on 42 tri-county school bond issues totaling $999 Million in total par amount.

Strong and Stable Capital Base. As of September 30, 2018, Stifel’s capital base was sufficient to solely underwrite securities of approximately $3.8 billion, based on SEC guidelines. Our leverage is amongst the lowest of any of our competitors, which ensures that our capital will be available when and if the District needs it. We regularly commit our capital to support our municipal clients: during 2018, Stifel underwrote over $37 million in balances for Michigan municipal bond issuers.

Michigan Presence. Stifel has been an active member of the Michigan K-12 community since our office opened in 2008. We are active sponsors, presenters, and board members of organizations that benefit our clients including: Michigan Association of Superintendents and Administrators, Michigan Association of School Boards, Michigan School Business Officials, and Michigan Women in Finance.
