K-12 Alliance of Michigan Announces New Board Leadership for 2024-25 School Year

Algonac Community Schools Superintendent Al Latosz Named Board President

The K-12 Alliance of Michigan is proud to announce that Al Latosz, superintendent of Algonac Community Schools, has been elected as the new President of the organization’s Board of Directors. Latosz succeeds outgoing president, Erik Edoff, and brings extensive leadership experience and a passion for advancing education throughout the state.

"The K-12 Alliance is the best educational organization I’ve had the privilege to be part of in my 33 years as an educator," said Latosz. "It's a tremendous honor to serve as president for a group that is home to such a wealth of educational knowledge and expertise. I look forward to continuing to work with this incredible team to tackle the challenges facing Michigan’s schools and ensure a bright future for our students."

Latosz previously served as The K-12 Alliance’s vice-president. His leadership will be critical as the K-12 Alliance continues its efforts to ensure every child in Michigan has equitable access to a quality education and the opportunity to succeed both in and outside of the classroom.

In addition to Latosz’s appointment, the K-12 Alliance also announced additional Board leadership positions for the 2024-25 school year, including:

  • Treasurer: Ms. Julie Williams

  • Secretary: Dr. Jennifer Martin-Green
